High Chair
Joseph Pilates Original studio chair is available for the first time since 1947. Joe’s first apparatus not to be built by Joe Himself but his brother Fred at his manufacturing company, the Atlas Equipment Company of St. Louis Mo. The chair was built and used as a professional in-studio chair by Joe until his death in 1963. Its design was the base for all his subsequent chair designs like the electric and the wunda chair. The wunda chair was designed in the late 1950 as a home version chair the first one being designed and built for a wealthy clients small New York Apartment.
The electric chair was designed as an extension to the Rehabilitation chair as an aid to his clients. Our re-issue is in all aircraft grade alloy and recreates the weight, stability, and functionality of his original Rehab and electric chairs.
We have chosen not to re-create the home version wunda chair at this time since the product line is focused on professional studio equipment.
