Rehab Chair®

Joseph Pilates original studio chair is available for the first time since 1947. Joe’s first apparatus not to be built by Joe himself but by his brother Fred at his manufacturing company, the Atlas Equipment Company of St. Louis Mo.

The rehabilitation chair was THE chair used in his studio, and its design was the base for all his subsequent chair designs, like the electric and the wunda chair. The wunda chair was built in the late 1950 as a home version of his studio chair. It was designed for one of Joe's clients to be used in a small New York apartment.

We have chosen to re-manufacture Joe's studio chair rather than the wunda chair at this time, since our product line is focused on providing professional studio equipment with Joe's original functionality. Our re-issue is in all aircraft grade alloy and recreates the weight, stability, and functionality of his original rehabilitation chair.

Regaining dimensions and features to facilitate a full chair workout
Heavy weight for stability and limited sliding, allowing to exercises to be performed safely and with minimal strain on instructors.
Proprietary spring design and forced alignment to help aid client in working correctly, and help the instructor teach exercises correctly.
Chair top is easily removable for replacement and color changes.
Absorbatek (R) layered foam system provides weight and force distribution to give your body enough resistance to work against and help you, while providing support and protection.
Anti Bacterial, Anti Microbial, Mildew and UV Resistant High Grade Vinyl conforming to ASTM D3690-ClassA and ASTM G-21-90/NYS63. Available in standard and custom colors
Top of the line ball bearing wheels available to facilitate easy chair relocation
